A fun weekend!

So this weekend was going to be an easy going weekend with two cakes....
pretty easy to make....no problem!!
I got a call Thursday from one of my favorite "customers" asking for a tiered cake, Marti Gras style!
 How could I say NO!!!!
When she orders a cake, she thinks BIG!!!
 I love that about her!!!
 She test my ability every time too!
But that is how I learn the best!!!
My weekend got a little crazy after that!! It's all my fault!
I have horrible time management skills! I think I have plenty of time...then BLAM it hits me that I don't!!!!
I had so much fun with this Marti Gras cake!
How could you not! The colors are fun....the designs...the elements!!
 I love it all!!
 So here is one of my cakes I made this weekend!!
The color is so bad tho.....I need to learn how to use my camera!!!
I made the mask myself too!!! Out of fondant and royal icing!!!
~~~~~~
I also had my first Toy Story cake!! I love this bunch of movies!!!
This cake was so fun to make!!!
 I had to run to the next town to find the toys for the top...
but the look on little Connor's face was so worth it!!!
~~~~~~~
The best part of all this is the reaction you get when someone see's what you've made them!
I really love trying to put personal touches in my work!!
I love meeting up with the person ordering and getting a feel for them!!
I have meet some really wonderful people doing cakes/cookies....
Like Theresa!!!
She has two beautiful little girls!!!
I have had the pleasure of making cookies, cupcakes and cakes for the family!!
I made some special birthday cookies for her oldest daughter, and this weekend I made a cake for the youngest!!!  She just turned two!
This cake was for her!! She loves Dora!!!

So that was my weekend!! Im not done yet!
 I have some cookies and mini cupcakes to make tomorrow!!
I'll be back to share those too!!

Christmas Cookies....

I know, Christmas is over! Move on already Man!!
But I want to share my cookies...and then I will move on!!
I didn't make near as many as I did the year before.
 But then again, this past year was like no other for me and I spent a lot of time away from home!!!

I call these cookies Cowboy's Christmas!!
Yep...being in Texas your bound to do something Cowboys!!

I love snowmen! And I love the look of melted snowmen on cookies!!

I call these my Texas snowmen!
We had a beautiful white Christmas this year, NOT a normal thing for us!!
 But now things are more back to semi normal and it's in the 60's!!
Crazy weather here!!

These beautiful cookies are my results from using Sweet Sugarbelle's awesome tutorial!!
She is amazing!
 And if you don't already know who she is, you need to go find out!!!
She is going places!!!!

Last but not least...my favorite little set this year!
 Very green!!
And some of these cookies...oh wait, ALL of these cookies are inspired by Sweet Sugarbelle!!!
Yes, she is my inspiration!!
I want to be HER when I grow up!!
Just don't tell anyone that I am already older then her! LOL!!!!

So...MOVING ON!! I have a couple orders this weekend and I hope to have them blogged around Monday or Tuesday!!! Thank you to my wonderful friends that are now following me on my blog!!!
Love you guys!!! Hugs and Love

To many gmail accounts..

I just have to many gmail accounts. i have a hard time remembering which one I use for this blog!!
I have been reading other blogs and envious of them!! I don't want to be famous, but I sure would love to know hundreds of people LOVE my creations :)
So...i'm gonna try to blog...try!! But I am horrible at keeping up with anything! I'm actually kinda shocked that I've kept up with the cookie/cake decorating for this long!! Its been about 15 months now!!! Record!!!!
Let me see what I can share today....It's a new computer so I don't' have much on my drive, but lets look....

Ha..not that i have more then 4 followers :)  But here are my last two cakes!~ I made these for a dear friend of mine! One for her son, who is an avid golfer and the other for her brother in law who is a school teacher!! Ok...maybe my "book" will end up on cake wreaks!! Ha ha ha!! I thought it was pretty cool for not having any idea what I was doing and not using fondant!! You know, you have to start somewhere!! You can't get better if you don't start somewhere, right!?!?!
I almost put 2+2=3 on the book....But I'm not sure if people "get" my humor sometimes :) ha ha ha!!!

Ok...COOKIES!! Tomorrow, if I can remember, I'll post some cookies!!!
So all my followers...come back and see me!!

So today...cakes!!!

So today I thought I would share some of my cakes!! I only have ONE follower...LOVE YOU TRACY!! But maybe someday I will have others!!!! These first cakes are from my Wilton classes I took thru-out 2010!!!

  This was our 1st cake...learning stars!!
I am not to crazy about stars!! But the rainbow was still pretty!!
*I did single layer since both myself and my daughter took the class*
Everyone loves a clown...ok maybe not!! My 16 year old took this 1st class with me and was not very happy about making a clown cake!!!!
This is my final cake for the fondant and gumpaste class!!! I really wanted to learn this stuff the most!! What a pain it can be tho!!! I have mentioned I ADORE ORANGE!! And the other BRIGHT colors!! The picture does not do it justice on brightness!!!!!
And my final final cake....I was sad to have classes end.
I enjoyed Sue and her lessons!!!
We learned the basketweave that night and had to try it out on our final cake...

I loved the 2nd class I took! Working with gumpaste and fondant.
I thought I would share my flowers here too!!!

These are my first flowers made with Gumpaste!
The rose and carnation!!
I tried putting some sparkle on the one carnation!!
Not bad, right!!!
Here are more... including the ORANGE mum!!
The carnation, the cally lily and the daisy!
This one was a lot harder to make then it looked
 and was made with Royal Icing!
These are my first flowers with Royal Icing...
 Working on my roses...
 Fondant flowers!!!
 Working on more flowers....trying to figure out
just what I want to do on my final cake!!

So that was my adventures with Wilton classes!!!!
And there is still so much to learn!!!
